After running a roll of film through the M7, then viewing and scanning the results, I am impressed.
The shutter, quiet on all Ms, is really quiet on the M7!
When you turn on the switch the ISO blinks for two seconds. I usually overexpose neg film about 1/3 stop and underexpose transparency film 1/3 stop. When I set the ISO to 80 for the DX coded 100 speed film, the flashing display still read 100. A quick check of the manual revealed that if you're using a DX coded cassette, it will flash that speed EVEN IF YOU HAVE SET A DIFFERENT SPEED. That makes me uncomfortable, but it turned out alright. Next, I'll try a roll of slide film which will more of a an accuracy test.
To understate: Nice camera!
