My small team writes complex phone/iPad apps and I love cameras. If I were to commission an app in this genre, what would you like to see?

e.g. classic camera pricing, eBay average prices, lens specs and compatibilty, buying guide, weather, lighting, locations, tips and tricks, augmented reality for DOF preview, lens coverage, composition guides, the light meter you always wanted etc.

I would also be very happy to hear from any prospective content collaborators.

Any thoughts?
 
A kind of search engine buying/selling thing. Something that updates you with the status of the thing you're looking for across websites, pulling prices from everywhere. For example, if I'm looking for a V2 Noctilux in VG-EXC condition within a price range or below a threshold, then I'll get an alert like an RSS feed update.

Either that or make the app transform the phone into a full fledged M9 with 24mm Summilux. ;)

Both ideas are in line with my thinking. As a reluctant collector (caused by GAS) I would like a reference for when I am out and about and see a camera or lens I know very little about.

Keep the suggestions coming!
 
I would suggest a light meter app, but fotometerpro is excellent and has the analogue metaphor sewn up. It does both incident and reflected reading. I use it with my Rollei all the time. Perhaps a straight digital meter like the more expensive Gossens or Sekonics.
 
I can get historical data out of the eBay API. I will have to contact them for commercial licensing costs but is this is a desirable feature?

Here is one I just did for "Leica M3 body" - prices are in USD.

Sounds like two separate apps to me. One for collectors/buyers/sellers with the pricing, specs, ... . The second would be a utility to users in the field/traveling with weather, lighting (sunrise/set, moonrise/set, ...), DOF calc, lightmeter, ...
 
I'd like to be able to turn on an app that tints my phone red so I can use it in the darkroom to switch music, browse the web and such.
 
A comparison engine might be neat. Something to the effect of, I have or would like an A and the app spits out B, C and D; comparable cameras with specs/prices.

And a buy/sell/trade platform. There's a nice app called Craigslist pro that allows you to search rather quickly for items in one or more areas. It would be nice to have an aggregator that searches RFF, eBay, Craigslist, etc.
 
The only app I use is the light meter app and there's already a decent free one available. Perhaps a phone version of Massive Dev Chart so I don't have to look up the website all the time.

Maybe an app that combines that with http://filmdev.org/, and ability to set timing with a push of a button based on the recipe.

The iPhone already has the massive dev app.

sorry, bit of jargon there. a 'media phonebook' is a list of all the DIRECT contact info for photo editors, gallery owners, agency contacts etc.

editors could add to it when they are seeking particular work from particular locales?

it could also contain a calendar that alerted the individual to contests, grants and award dates etc.

accurate and updated 'media phonebooks take years to build. an app? i'd be purchasing.
