On a Fed 2 there is this inscription: "Zavod im.Dzerjinskogo"
- Anyone any clue on what this means?
- Is this inscription normal on a Fed 2?
- Are there other types with this inscription?

Hi,
This inscription are found on pre-series, transitional, and type A Fed-2s. I am not sure of its meaning.

It means "Factory named after F(eliks) E(dmunovitch) Dzerzhinski". There were variations on the FED-1.
That inscription appeared in many of the earlier FED-1 too (but not on the last of the FED-1), as well as many of the earlier FED-2, as comrade Zhang had said. One FED-2 which appeared on eBay had Dzerzhinskogo mis-spelled.

Thanks,
One can find also a lot of black FED 2's on the *bay (offered by Ukrain people). I guess there are no genuine black FED 2's?
