Fishing for information here.
Can I use the Instax Mini dark slide as a reference surface for film plane when calculating the correct distance to the lens flange.

I would personally assume yes. That's where I started. Nothing complete. So I cannot give a definitive answer.

The Jollylook finally arrived. I've removed the film holder/developing module. (The only thing I really wanted.) I have noticed that the cartridge is tilted forward bottom to top so I will mount the developing module with a slight backward tilt to have the film plane parallel to the lens/shutter.
My plan is to mount a front focusing 75mm f6.3 Novar in shutter from a Zeiss Nettar. The lens was designed to cover 6X6 so should have no problem with the 77mm diagonal of Instax Mini.
In a fit of curosity I removed the front lens standard and mounted it to a 4X5. At f16 or smaller it seems to cover without too much falloff on the GG.
