Instax negative recoverable?

In a different thread, a poster mentioned that it's possible to separate the positive print from the negative for Instax films:

I followed the link, but didn't see any mention of Instax, only Polaroid and other integral films like Impossible SX-70. Can anybody confirm whether it's indeed possible to recover a negative from Instax film? After searching, I found a few results on Google that indicate there is no recoverable negative:

I've bleached and recovered negatives from FP-100c peel apart pack films, but of course Fuji has discontinued that product. :bang:

I don't think Instax has a negative at all, it's a different process altogether.

Wrong.
All integral instant films have a film negative base, including Instax.
And it can be separated.
There are reports about that in some film blogs. A friend of mine has done it, too.

We would love to see them!

I've done it with Polaroid/Impossible integral (lifting the emulsion) and Fuji pack film (cleaning the negative). No luck with Instax.

There is no negative to recover unfortunately that is. Instax is a positive emulsion and works differently than Polaroid or Fuji peel apart.

Jan, do you have any links that you could share? I wasn't able to find any blogs about separating Instax, but perhaps there are some non-US or non-English film blogs that report recovering the negative.

I did find this link which has a diagram of the different layers in Instax, but not clear to me whether there's a negative layer that can be separated:

As said above, I was hinted at that some time ago by a friend of mine. He has got it afaik from a blog or a workshop, and has done it then by himself. I will ask him. But currently he is on a longer journey, so it will take some time.
