Just to thank everyone else for the varied and interesting comments and to try and explain my side of the image.

My reason for posting this image here was to help discover why I like it,not if I like it. I agree its a complicated and somewhat confusing image and certainly not con ventionaly composed and does seem to contain two distinct images,the right side could not stand on its own,the interest is in why they are linked not how,as they are obviously linked by reality.
On the right side I now see(the only thing that was conciously recorded at the time was the old lady and child,)communication between the adults,a possible scenario being the choice of who will get to talk too or recieve information from the lady occupying the left side of the frame.This kind of rationalisation is of course very convenient if as suggested I was trying to like the image or convincing myself of a near miss if you like but this is not the case here,I honestly like the photo but cant quite work out why.Thanks again for your help.Ill try to present a good print when Ive decided how to make one.............Neil.
p.s.I feel I should add that it was an unusual experience seeing this lady appear from the bushes as if from nowhere and was more dramatic in real life than is shown in the photo but I did see the lady walking around afterwards .
