Just read about this on slashdot.org: retrievr . A search engine for finding images on flickr - and quickly - by decomposing them using a "fast multiresolution image query". Basically, you draw a sketch of the most prominent features and blocks of colour, and it will find images that match. It works pretty well, and it's a bit of fun, too. Sometimes I wish I had this on my desktop computer; I often lose track of a picture, and can never find it on the hard drive.

Excerpt from the About page:
What?

retrievr is an experimental service which lets you search and explore in a selection of Flickr images by drawing a rough sketch.

Currently the index contains many of Flickr's most interesting images. If you'd like to have your images (or the images for a specific tag) added, please let me know. A submission interface is planned!

Enjoy!
