Interesting item: Aperture Key

Saw on eBay an item used to adjust the aperture on a Leica Elmar 50/3.5 while still having a A36 filter slipped on.

Seems like a simple and fantastic idea.

But I am wondering how it can be turned? It would be locked tight with the A36 filter, right? Or do we have to turn loosen the filter to adjust the aperture?

PS: no intention to buy as the price is too high. I rather shoot in aperture priority mode or take off the filters to adjust the aperture. 🙂

As a guess, I expect the "key" locks to the filter, which rotates on its mount like a polarizer, and you just rotate until the aperture is where you want it...
