Over the years, I have shot many Descansos, and I still rarely pass one up. It's been a habit, and I was pleased to stumble upon this site.

Unfortunately we have more than a few of these in our area. Sould we consider a gallery here on the forum? I've been moved to photograph them out of a sense of respect and honor; I believe it could be done in a tasteful manner.

Yeah, I'm always finding new ones. I've been compelled to shoot them over the years. I don't know why, just have. I've amassed quite a collection of them. Perhaps I'll create a Descanso gallery in here. If I ever figure out how the gallery works...

That's interesting. I've considered shooting these as well, but I've wondered how to approach the subject matter. I'd like to see what you've done. A member here, sorry I forget who, shot several with a Holga which I thought was very effective. The images are in the gallery.
BTW, thanks for the link. I never knew what they were called. I'm surprised how many I see along the freeway. I know of one very elaborate one, maintained by a mexican family. I've seen them adding to it. Heartbreaking.
