Internal reflections from Industar/Jupiters?

On my Industars and Jupiters, I had noticed that the face of the lens rangefinder ring and the end of the thread mount seem to present quite a large and bright, reflective surface which faces the film. Having suffered some effects of similar reflection (from the chrome bezel of a YashicaMat) when used with darker filters, I wondered if there could be a similar problem here.
My attempts to colour in the bright work have been limited to a permanent marker, unfortunately not-so-permanent as it is "worn off" by the rangefinder cam. Is it worth persuing a "permanent" permanent marker? Do other LTM lenses have such a bright area?

I am thinking about the same thing too; I use a Voigtlander Bessa-R with a Color-Skopar 35/2.5, and also have a bright-barrel J-8 with dead grease which is totally jammed. Since the J-8 needs to be rejuvenated anyway, I am going to talk to my techician and see if he will get the lens disassembles, give me the exposed barrel part, so that I can soak off the really yucky copal varnish (or what's left of it), get all the exposed part black anodized, then put back together. In that sense I can kill several birds with one stone: the black anodizing will protect the barrel so no tarnishing, at the back RF cam mating surface, no reflection, and of course a good dose of modern grease will indeed make it run smoother too. The front surface coating is also a bit scratched so I might want to get it recoated. All of these things can be done locally at modest cost. I have also a black-barrel J-8 fitted to a Zorki-4K which is in pristine condition but the rotating barrel makes changing aperture a headache, and besides the rear cam surface is still shiny.

Seele, by the time you have done all that wouldn't it be more cost effective to get a black j8?

Or, you can get a cold anodizing solution to brush on yourself and just coat the offending inner ring.

Yeah, I had heard of quality differences betweem th eolder j8's and the newer black models.

I'll try locate the name of the blacking solution for you. There's one for aluminum and one for brass.
