- monochrome sensor was tried on the xp2 but in end decided to go w/ normal xtran and not produce a special version...article tells the whys.
--- at least they were willing to experiment outside the box

"We asked users of the X-Pro 1 if they used it for video and 80% of them said no. By cons, of course, you can make high quality videos FHD with the X-Pro 2. But according to our studies users do not expect 4K feature on the X-Pro 2. Technically, we could add this feature with a firmware update but we do not plan to do so in the future."

That doesn't really make sense, but it is clear this is a marketing decision in the first place.

For me, 4K would be a selling point. And I am not interested in the Fuji cameras that lack the hybrid viewfinder. That's their biggest differentiator.
