The massive M9 DNG files are eating too much memory - only 4GB left on my 32GB ipad2.
Anyone found a way to not import the raw part of raw+jpg files from my M9 and GRD onto an ipad ?
I just want keep the jpegs around to show people - I will not erase the SD card and pull the DNG files into lightroom when I get home.

I've tried googling without success for e.g. a sd card browser that can move files around or rename DNG to something that is not recognized - so won't import.

One old suggestion I found, was to copy files into a new folder in iPhoto then delete the original, which would remove the DNG and jpeg original and keep the jpeg copy, but now iPhoto delete only allows 'delete file in all places' :bang:

maybe some file manager that allows easy select & delete all raws after import. perhaps with iFiles? sorry no personal experience.

There's no easy way to do this.

If you import, open a JPEG with a photo editor like SnapSeed or PhotoGene, export to the Camera folder, then delete the originals, that serves to accomplish the goal.

I've filed a feature enhancement request that there be a user selectable "copy all", "copy only JPEG files", etc ... if others file similar enhancement requests, it would motivate the folks creating the software to do it.

Thanks Godfrey,
Going through SnapSeed works. It's not a great workflow, but it will do the job in the short term.
I will also file an enhancement request when I'm back to help nudge Apple along.
