I'm an interloper on this sub forum, but I hope you folks can help me find out about add-on lenses for the iPhone 5. I'm asking on behalf of my daughter. I don't have a mobile phone myself, but my daughter would like to know what you "real photographers" think about these lenses. Which have you tried, which did you like best, if any, and any other comments you'd care to make.
Thanks in advance for your expertise.

Not sure I'm a "real photographer". but here goes.

Aux lenses run from not worth the postage it takes to send them across town to, at least IMHO acceptable.

Ricoh has some wide angle attachments for thier more pro-focused line of cameras that work very well. Though the telephoto attachment while sharp flair on just about any light source.

Saddly the only way to tell is try them. If I ever got into shooting home interiors I would get the adapter for my GRD III and an off camera flash. Going from 28 to 21 makes a world of differernce in tight spaces.

Check the return policy where ever she gets one. Try pointing into the sun with and without it. Try a light bulb in the dark with and without it. Different sections of the frame in both types of test. Sun high in the sky and low to the ground too.

Worst that happens is you return it and pay postage.

I would not be afraid of trying one or three till I find one that works well. Please keep us in the loop as to how she makes out.

Having two teen age sons I know how it is. When I say something it can not be right.

Well, I can tell you that when they get older it gets way better, so just hang in there. Mine are grown-ups now and both are pure delight. Thanks for the info so far. Amy met a photog from a magazine the other day, and he said he was having lots of fun with his iPhone 5-cum-lenses, so it got her thinking...

There were TONS of great addons for the iphone 4/4s.

So far there is very little available for the iphone 5.

Helga has just released their lens kit/cover for the 5, if you like Helga results.

My fav for the 4s was the Olloclip and I can't wait for that to be available for the 5 - great macro's are the best part.

Hang in there... We'll be flooded with choices before long :)
