I just upgraded to a new to me iPhone 6s Plus. Camera is a bit better than my old phone as it has OIS and is 12 megapixels. Haven't shot much with it yet but I was revisiting camera apps. Many are junk but I am surprised how much thought went into 645 Pro MK III.
It gives an enormous amount of control over the camera and has some fairly unique options. For example if you press and hold the shutter release it locks focus+exposure and can be set to take the shot when you release. Nice work around for the two step shutter release on most camera. Has a bunch of different aspect ratios corresponding to different MF backs. 645, 6x6, 6x7, 6x7+,6x9, 16:9, 6x12 and 6x17. For TLR fans an option in the app will reverse the image Left to Right (or top to bottom) if you find that aids your framing. Has immediate MF (with peaking), can show highlight and shadow clipping, spot metering (positionable independent of focus), program mode/shutter priority/manual or ISO priority and it has a bunch of film simulation modes that are much more subtle than many other apps. You can set it to save a simulation version along with an original and it can be set to save as JPG, Tiff and DNG (if the phone supports DNG). You can even save file type independently for a film simulation vs the original.

Thanks for this tip. Shawn. Is there some concern on the functionality of this app with different iphone phone models or will it work well across all models in your opinion?

Based on the manual my guess is that the oldest phone the current version runs on is a 4s. I think that is the oldest phone supported by current versions of IOS too. There is an option to change the viewfinder for the 4s' smaller screen and it also mentions that in the bracket mode the 4s only captures two shots vs 3 in the other cameras.
If you are viewing the film simulations in the live view (instead of just adding them to the saved shots) it is fairly resource intensive so you might see a slow down on a 4s. Seems fine on the 6s Plus though and the bigger screen is really nice.
Looks like it supports the newer phones just fine too. It has an option to switch cameras (FOV 26 or 52mm) and will save DNG files if the iPhone supports it.

It is most likely best to go through it all to optimize its usefulness.

Explore the settings and options too. That was how I found you can invert the image, it was a compatibility setting for additional hardware but works alone too.
DNG files look good when processed with RPO64. The built in B&w films look nice and can be tweaked quite a bit.

Page 27 of manual - I have enabled hardware shutter (Volume+ button) but it doesn’t work. Only the big display button works.
Any idea how to enable it?

I really like the Release Shutter after AF/AE-L = Lift Only feature. Manual says that doesn't work with the volume + so I'm not really worried about it. EDIT: Would be cool if the shutter release used the 3D Touch on some iPhones for a two stage trigger.
Played around a bit today. ISO priority mode is good to keep that low. The press and hold functions are handy for the Night Mode (slower shutter speeds in Program mode) and to change drive modes. I wouldn't have found those without the manual.
At low ISO there is a lot of detail in the photos. Looking at the DNG in Iridient Developer at 100% really surprised me. (In a good way)

BTW, I realized the inversion options (L/R or up/down) also write that to the files. Could flip it easily enough in post but I have requested the option to display inverted (either L/R and/or up/down) but to write the files regularly.

645 Pro is a great camera App. It does have some features that may require practice or sleuthing out. There's an option for "developed Raw" capture, delivered as a DNG, but what that means is, I believe, pretty much unprocessed images with less or no lossy compression, suitable for editing.
Lately, I have been using Lightroom CC on the phone. Why? It syncs to Lightroom on the Mac and delivers more than 8bits. 12? 14? 16? I don't know, but it's handy.

Thanks for submitting this request.
I have same problem : auto-rotate is enabled in IOS which makes the app display rotate when in horizontal position (physically, volume button is now on top right like a proper modern shutter) but the file is written inverted to the camera roll.

I like holding it the other way as the camera on bottom right is easy to cover with fingers. You can lock rotation but I don’t know how that effects the files. I was talking about the Hilo support in advanced features where you can invert image like in a tlr. The files are written inverted too. Would be nice if the viewfinder could be inverted but write the files normal. Viewfinder inversion to help trick the brain to see composition differently.

Heard back from the developer of 645 Pro. The volume control not working is an issue with the latest iOS and will be fixed in next update.
For the inverted viewfinder, normal file they had that option in their 6x6 app and he felt like it just confused people so it won't be an option in 645 Pro. Too bad, would have been fun to shoot with TLR like framing.
