Well-known
I guess I know the answer , but I much like the 1990s 35-80 zooms [ 52-120 ] on my Sony A35 and , more recently Pentax KS-1 DSLRS .
It's more useful to me than the kit lenses .
I find the IQ acceptable for architectural details and the reach from the 50mm which I used way back when is just right .
I tend to stick to f8 and adjust the ISO as required , which is so useful on later cameras , although in good light , a Sony A290 or Pentax K10d with the CCD sensors are fine .
In some respects , being a touch unbalanced , using a £40 lens makes me less inclined [ pun ? ] to worry about damage - having dropped my K10D with no effect on the camera , but with scrapes to the 35-80 .
