IR UV Cut Filter with Slide Film

I neglected to remove the IR UV Cut Filter from a lens i had been using with my M8 and placed this filtered lens on an M6 shooting Slide Film. My question is what effect this will have on the developed pictures. I did this with 4 rolls and hesitate to incur the expense of developing if the results will be unusable. Thanks in advance.

If the lens used is less than 50mm focal length, then you might see some very slight magenta color cast around the edges if I'm not mistaken, but it's no big deal. Just go ahead and process your slides.

Think that just correcting the white balance in your image processing software will solve this easily 🙂

why are ppl advising to digitally process slides? to me it defeats the purpose of shooting slides to begin with...

as for the uv/ir filters with slides, i'm afraid i haven't any experience doing so.

Wouldn't it depend on the IR sensitivity of the particular slide film? I'd bet there's no noticeable difference.

Because the filter will remove red at high angles of incident - leaving a cyan cast to reach the film/sensor. If you look at the IR cut filters from an angle you see the red reflection.

Better to take them off with wide angles, especially if you plan to project them...
