A cheap full-frame M-mount digital body would be interesting. If Nikon don't see an opportunity to get in there first with their existing CMOS sensor technology (and they have form for jumping into the Leica system).

Cosina isn't really investing too much into their film body business... The Bessa series are basically marginally-modified different versions of a SLR chassis that Cosina has been building in the millions since the 1970s for various other manufacturers. What's different in the Bessas and between the models is mainly the rangefinder, partly the materials. Even the third-party bodies like the ZI or the R-D1 that Cosina has been making are clearly based on the same chassis.
If you have your entire camera production set up around building variations of that one body that you've become really good at building, then developing an entirely new body with the whole production and tooling is a risky proposition. For Cosina it would be a huge step, and the benefits seem quite questionable.
It won't happen. Even if they make another digital camera at some point, it will be based on the same chassis.
I'm aware of, and agree with, all that. The problem is, as SLR chassis go, it's not even a particularly compact one. Even the Bessa-L (no RF, no VF) was the exact same size as an M3, and significantly taller than a Barnack. It really surprises me how successful they've been despite this, which only goes to show that Mr K had really better ignore my opinion...

No, they don't. Nikon is busy with themselves, keeping up with the rapid SLR market, getting a foothold for their newly-developed mirrorless system and getting their production and R&D back on track after the various earthquakes, nuclear accidents and floods. With the 1 system in the market, the one thing that is clear is that there will be no digital rangefinder from Nikon, full frame or otherwise, in particular not for the Leica system.
The cheap full-frame M-mount digital rangefinder has been discussed to death. No, it won't come. Even a full frame mirrorless is more likely, and that's already unlikely enough as it is.

Considering the scope of their own brand is small.

I would have thought that there was a market for a digital rangefinder in module form.
ie. a chassis with an M mount that could on removal of the bottom plate have its sensor slid in and locked. All connections being slide in type for the basic controls and screen.
In this way any updates in sensor technology could be accomodated.
Cosina could then just update sensors into the slide in module and we could keep our chassis's.
Just an idea, I know i'd buy one.

They must be asleep.
Otherwise, they would be selling nothing but polycarbonate Auto-focus lenses for Nikon and Canon.
Thankyou, Cosina!

Third that. One 28/35 mini just went through the classifieds for $250, and was snapped up in an instant. I've never used one but come on, that's serious money. Makes a nice start for saving up on an M, for chrissakes.

He tried to rush me into a $1600 sale, once I told him I needed a day or two to think about it he brushed me off. The guy obviously didn't need to sell that camera to make rent. ****ty service.
I work at a reputable camera store and I would be fired for treating a sale like that. Thumbs down.

Maybe you need to be told in (even) clearer terms that you are Stephen's guest here. We all are. That doesn't mean we can't be critical here, but how about you keep your remarks to something you'd say to his face, in his house.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, CV needs to come out with a 50/1.4 Nokton that is the same size as the 35/1.4 and 40/1.4.

and,
Downtown Camera in Toronto stocks them as well and I've never had a problem with those guys at all, but for that matter I see the 1.1 on kijiji and cl all the time.
Not to slap you on the wrist or anything, but if you have a problem with a salesperson to whom you spoke directly, let them know directly that you felt slighted. Putting them on blast on the internet is a bit childish.

i think stephen is a one man operation...a slow sale on the phone might actually cost him money if he has others waiting...
anyway, i don't get a commision or anything...there are places in canada to shop for cv gear...
