Is Eddy Smolov still active?

I recently bought a very nice Contax IIa from an RFFer (thanks, Marc!), but it needs a CLA. Nothing too complicated, the helical needs a lube and the shutter has to be adjusted. Eddy Smolov seems to be ideal--nearby, fast, and inexpensive--but he hasn't responded to my email. Is he still doing Contax repairs? And if not, where should I send the camera?

John, that info above is current as of two weeks ago or so--I just got back my Zorki3m I'd sent for new curtains. His emails are brief but he has responded to me quickly.
Good, cheap, fast--who said I had to pick two?

I sold him a Plaubel 6x9 view camera many, many years ago- then bought an M6 from him about three years ago. I was surprised to find him using email.

Got a great result from a recent Kiev 4 CLA/shutter repair he performed for me. Very nice, indeed.

Wow. The camera is already back to me. ONE WEEK. All speeds appear perfect. Helical is super smooth. $95. Not bad at all!

Just had two Contax cameras' shutters CLAed by him. One received back two weeks ago and the other today. Great work. Highly recommended.

Just got a Nicca back from him, he put new curtains in it and supposedly CLA'd. Unfortunately the slow speeds are not accurate and the RF is completely screwed up (subject at 6 feet, RF says infinity.)

This is unfortunate, but he will take it back and fix it if you ask him too. I am sure of it.

Just got word he received two cameras I sent him. He says he's going for a holiday next week but I didn't find out how long he will be gone.

Eddy really does great work and stands by it. He took back a Kiev 4a because of ongoing light leak problem.
