In the last days I've noticed when I open random picture (on black background, info on right) it appears fuzzy, on right appears name of uploader and description, page continues to load (status line shows reading from flickr hosts) and after 5-10sec. image renders sharp and rest of info (comments, info or tags) shows up. My tech stack shouldn't be issue (net, pc, load), yet right now as I check (no restart, no browser clean-up routines), it works noticeably faster than before so I certainly see difference. In fact right now I don't have any complaints but days before it were forcing me to use ipernity to find pictures I were looking using tags. Either they deployed new version of software or scaled hardware, so big difference I see now.
Ipernity just doesn't have this issue (but I have admit I'm rare ipernity user). I wonder if flickr is, were hitting limits of backend, as their user base and upload/request volume should be also be larger. Well, volume isn't only thing that can make impact but still.
