Is it Canon or is it FED?

My money is on FED. It does say "copy" in the description and no Canon RF I've ever seen has those screws in the front. The lens is also all wrong.

Never seen a fake Canon, before. Someone in the FSU is getting creative.

This is just loopy. It's so different from any real Canon model that I don't know why the forger even bothered.

Canon never made a camera with a viewfinder configuration like this. Every postwar Canon had a combined range/viewfinder; this thing has separate RF and VF.

The prewar Canons that did have separate RF and VF had a pop-up viewfinder, not a central Leica-type viewfinder.

As I said, it's hard to see why they bothered, even on an avowed "copy." They might just as well have engraved it "Maserati" or "Mixmaster" or "iPod," for all it has to do with the original.

A Fed, as you thought, Captain. I have seen similar fakes (a few "Reids and a "Leotax)" , but from internet sellers rather than e-bay. Curious indeed.

Looks like Fed 1g body, in nice condition they can be sold easily. Dont see why you might want to call it a Canon copy, unless you engraved the top plate.

And this has been bidded up to $113! 😱 I guess the fakers have figured out that everyone knows a Leica fake when they see one, so they're faking Canon's now.

Canon never made a bottom loader rangefinder camera with THREE windows on the front, rounded ends and if one asked the seller to show the RF cam inside it will be triangle in shape. BUT there seems to be collectors of fakes these days.

First time I see a fake Canon too. I'm betting on FED also. My Canon has different details like the little handles onder the knobs. Here are some more fakes:

It's made up from Zorki I parts. I did buy it, and there's no question. Never had any FED connection at all. See further on my site in the new area of this forum.
