do there seem to be less 'late' zorkis on eBay lately. I have been looking for a few parts cameras (mostly Zorki 6s) and they seem hard to come by lately. Luckily, Yuri from Fedka was able to feed my addiction. I see a bunch in 'buy it now' states, but not much for auction. I haven't seen any of my regular sellers have any either. Are the supplies drying up???? Is the end near??? Help calm my fears😱

It's possible that prices in Russia and the Ukraine or increasing and the sellers are reluctant to sell at a loss , in open auction the postage cost's play a big part in the end price in my opinion , and for all there charms Fsu cameras still carry the reputation of poorly constructed cheap tat , so very rarely do the later cameras reach a decent price . That said most of the Zorki 6's on Ebay at the moment are roughly £10.00 ($19.72) buy it now plus postage , It's just a case of finding acceptable postage charges :bang:

I think it's a matter of the low-hanging fruit has been picked over the years, and now the majority of the remaining examples are either not worth the time and money to list, or in good enough shape that ebay auctions are not required to move stock. Consider that the first things you put up for a rummage sale are the things you really just want to get rid of, and the last things are the items that still have use and value. I think we are down to the things that still have value, the cheap parts having all been shipped off.

It could also be a cyclical thing, and a flood of "new" stock might show up. Or a growing savvy from the sellers. Why bother with auction when you can set your price and ship it when it sells?

Of course, I could be finding patterns in static 🙂

I've noticed that, of late, the Zorki 4/4K and FED 4 are the only ones in any number on UK eBay. I decided to build up a collection about a year ago, when Zorki 2Cs were quite common, so I delayed buying one. When I had most of the other models they were far less common and I waited a while to get hold of one! Likewise my first FSU, a Zorki 1, was got for far less than I've seen one fetch of late.

Some of the cameras are low volume and collecting them has a natural consequence. Fed/Zorkis like unicorns, Zorki 2, Zorki 1a,... 1948 Kievs,...

I know the last time I looked it seemed to me that the prices have increased a bit. I guess I developed my FSU GAS at the right moment. All of my fsu cameras came from U.S. sellers. The Fed 5 I bought was from a Russian guy living in LA. The camera was brand new in the box and I got the camera for 10 bucks + shipping, plus I was the only bidder. My Zorki 2 came from a US seller for around 30 bucks and came with a leitz ablong to cut my film leaders. The Fed was under $30.00 also and it's a great shooter also. I should get a kiev to round out my soviet collection but i'd probably never use it much.

So , is it all drying up ? [ s/he says hopefully ? ]
'cos if they ain't out there ... ''i'' can't chase them !
.. and i have only just started ...
Maybe real Leicas will become the affordable altenative as digital takes over ?
There's a thought - a Zorki 1 costing more than a IIIc - then we can get Leicas engraved as Fed or Zorki , and make a killing .
