I love the optical performance of the few ZM lenses I've tried especially the 21/4.5 but I have a minor issue with the grip ring at the base of the lens. I find the milled grip to be too fine and flush with the barrel for easy mount/dismount. It seems to me that Leica lenses are easier to grab at the base either because grip ring has a slightly larger diameter than the barrel and/or a coarser shape to the milled ridges. It may also be the tolerances of the bayonet are slightly different making the ZM lenses feel stiffer to mount/dismount on my MP.

I find various M lenses mount differently on different M bodies. If it is nothing serious, I wouldn't worry about it. As well, I sometimes find the Zeiss focusing tab to be a little small.

I agree with Fred, all the VC lenses I've owned have fallen a bit short of the mark either in ergonomics or build quality, but the "bang for the buck" can't be beat, so I live with it.

I like them (ZM)- they feel more like rollei QMB 1 grip than obviously leica do and for me that is a plus- guess I am just more used to it - the voigtlander lenses I own all again have their own feel the L 25 skopar feels slightly like using a color - skopar on a vitomatic and the L 75 color heliar the focus missed knurling is reminiscent of lens like the prominent super dynarex 150 - I guess that is what i really like about the new ZM stuff and the new voigt stuff is that neither really look out of place is stood side by side with similar period products - ie mid to late sixties through to the mid seventies - for some it may be a bad thing for me it just nice

I wish the bump was actually a tab, because I find the diameter of the focus grip a little small for my sausage fingers. Oh, I have the Zeiss Planar 50. Also my skopar 35 pII is a little difficult to change apertures in a fast situation, also its cramped for me but nice to have that size though I find the tab too close to the body of the camera sometimes.
