Is it ok to post a FS here for some VC stuff?

Thanks for the fast reply. I'll put the posting there. But after that can I reference to that link with a quick posting here? Reason is lots of people who are interested in VC stuff hang out here but do not necessarily always check the Classifieds. If not, I understand, but of course want to drum up as much interest as possible. Thanks. - Richard

I usually surf RFF by using the "New Posts" link on the menu bar, that way I get access to all new threads at once. RFF isn't that busy and if you log in every other day or so, you'd have about 5 or 6 pages of new posts to go through only. I think quite a few others I know surf in the same manner, that way you don't miss any post.

Hi, Rich! I'd prefer not to see double/cross-postings; it's really unnecessary. Anytime I'm browsing RFF I'm looking at the Active Threads listing, which lists message threads in chronological order of their most recent posts. There's no indication at all of which "forum" any one thread belongs to.

As I go through these threads I'm not even aware of what forum it is in unless I make the effort to look at the thread path near the top of the page. Yes, Classifieds included! So any other members who do the same can hardly miss the ad... unless they decide to skip that thread.

And that brings up my final thought on this... For those who do peruse the messages by opening a forum of interest, if they don't choose to open the Classified forum you put your ad in, then it's pretty safe to assume they're not looking for ads to read. Your cross-posted ad forces it upon them, and that's not likely to be very welcome. Counter-productive? 🙂
