better hack an m-mount bayonet into it!

Possible? Yes - but hardly affordable. Removing the lens on these automated compacts leaves them without a shutter or aperture - you'll have to replace almost the entire workings of the camera to replace the lens. It would be cheaper, quicker and generally more sensible to hack a M bayonet and rangefinder to an Olympus OM2 body, as that would not lose its shutter and AE mechanism...

Definitely no.
If you want a semi auto RF, IMHO, better think of a Bessa or, if you can afford it, an M7.
Cheers

The accessory wide/tele lens kit
The fixed lens Yashica's had available an accessory lens kit in case. The lenses were actually optically quite good and they are often found either with camera's or alone on eBay. I have a set floating around somewhere in my cache of camera gear. Left over from my "been there, done that, Yashica days".

Has this been done? Been trying to google it but find nothing.
