Is Picasa any good?

I use both (free services only)

I use both (free services only)

flickr groups and tagging may be more advanced than picasa web, but as a free user, I hit my quota on day 1 of the month for flickr, picasa gives me way more upload space per account.

facebook is probably best for free, unlimited, and you can easily share or keep private.

I see a lot of flickr users. has anyone used the picasa web system? Is it as good or better than flickr?

Here is a link to picasa

I just use my blog for such things. On Blogger the files uploaded can be up to 8 MB large, each.

Thanks, Jorge. I've been a Picasa user for a while now yet didn't realize they had added a web hosting facility. I'll have to check it out. In the meantime, I'd be curious to hear from others who have already used it.

Hi

Hi

You can specify picasa web albums to be public or private, private ones are shared via email invite and not crawled by search engines, public ones are viewable by all, and crawled by se.

flickr free version @ 20MB/month is relatively useless, which means they will likely upgrade their free version soon.

the web uploading is super easy, but i don't think you can link the pictures directly. few hunderd megabyte free space.

blogger / blogspot is great

blogger / blogspot is great

but there is not an image album management (bulk uploader) that is free at this time, though 3rd party tools are available.

for single photos, or low volume, I agree, it is great.
