Is R or R2 focus accurate for Nokton 50mm/1.5?

After reading this http://nemeng.com/leica/031b.shtml I was wondering, is R or R2 focus accurate enough for Nokton 50mm/1.5 wide open? Or for Ultron 28mm/1.9? The effective rangefinder baselength seems to be 24 mm.

I have a Bessa T and it works just fine with my Ultron 28mm! But the baselength is bigger - 58 mm. Here is one example shot with my Bessa T and 28mm @ f/1.9 http://www.flickr.com/photos/jsuominen/211707782/ .

It worked for me, Jari (both lenses). But you will need a well adjusted R[2], with "snap" when focusing.
The 50/1.5 has the lesser DOF, wide open.

Hello Jari,

While I do not have a Nocton , I frequently use my Leica Summarit, which is also a 50mm f1:5. The focus is spot on wide open.

I believe that Cosina Voigtlander does not make lenses that are unworkable with any of their their bodies. The 50/1.5 will focus fine on the Bessa R, R2, R2A, R3A, etc. I'm guessing that they don't make faster longer lenses (like a 90/2 or 75/1.4) because they probably feel that these lenses are beyond the capability of their RFs.

I've shot a few rolls of film with the 50mm 1.5 Nokton on a Bessa R.

You do need to be a bit more careful with the focusing wide open, but it's not too hard to focus.

Maybe get the rangefinder adjusted to make it more precise.

With my Bessa-R I correctly focus 1.5/50mm Canon, as well as 1.8/85.

not to threadjack, but how is it focusing a lens like the 35/1.2 Nokton on a R2A/M?
i'm sure it's a little easier on a 3A/M, but how's the .68 finder?
