is there a simple way to identify orphan photo links in threads?

Sometimes I do a cull of my Gallery and/or Flickr images - which leaves orphan links in threads where I've posted links to the images ('this picture is no longer available' etc). W/NW threads are typically where this happens.

Is there simple way to identify orphan links, other than searching through all my posts in all threads? It would be useful to be able to update or delete these links so the threads maintain their integrity.

This is a common problem...

Hi,

I ask some weeks ago why i was seeing quite often "this image is not available etc..."

I was thinking at the beginning that the problem comes from my computer.

In fact, it seems that with Flirck, if you change an exif or re-upload the picture, it will change the link and so, get blank on every message were you put your link.

I don't know if it comes only from flickr but, with DA i don't have this problem (also, i am a poor uploader and i never touch or modify something that has been done there).

Perhaps Gdrive can be better ? I don't know.

I don't think it will help but that's my 2 cents

I usually store my images on Flickr. If you don't have a paid ('Pro') account there, only your last 200 images can be seen (it says). The Pro account is renewable annually, so sooner or later all such accounts will expire. I intend, before I get much older, to review my Flickr postings and see if I can get them below 200 by deleting any that don't already have e.g. comment threads already attached

thanks guys. I was aware of how any changes to Flickr status (eg. changing permissions from public to private) can change the link, but I'm thinking more of how I can get a list of posts I've made where the post contains an orphan link. Then I can go in and update the link or delete the link from the post.

I was browsing Raid's W/NW Beach thread and out of about 12 photos I'd posted in that thread only 4 links were still valid. That made the thread more difficult for others to view as they have to scroll down past all the 'this picture is no longer there' bits. Out of politeness to other viewers I want to be able to identify and delete/amend all the orphan link posts I've made in threads over the years. I was hoping for some quick way to do it.

Cheers,
