Is there any light 85-100 mm FSU lens?

I have a Fed 100 here in my hands.
Yes, it does rangefinder focus.
I have tried it on a Zorki 4, Fed 4 and it appears to focus down to 1.25m with no trouble.
When it is mounted it stops at 3 o'clock
I have tried it on a Zorki 1 and a Fed 2 and does not appear to engage the rangefinder

I have not ever used this lens although I have had it for years.
It weighs 8 oz./ 200 grams with both caps

hope this is of use to you

I'll say this, the Elmar 90mm lenses I've had did NOT impress me. They are not sharp at all, compared to the Fed 100/6.3 or Canon 100. If you want a soft, portrait type lens, they'd be very nice, but I'd avoid an Elmar 90 if you want sharp. My Fed 100 is my sharpest 85-100mm lens, and MUCH sharper than an Elmar. Only the Canon 135/3.5 is better, but 3 times larger. You want sharp, I'll give you sharp! Fed 100:

Thank you for the images!
At which aperture did you take the photo and at which apertures do you use the lens normally?

The FED lens certainly is tiny, and yes it is capable of very good images. Here is the FED 100 beside the small Elmar 90 and the chunky Canon 100 f2. It is definitely in a size class of its own.

I am just in the process of putting this FED lens up for sale in the Classifieds, if anyone is interested.

Cheers,
Dez

Thank you for the size comparison.

Do you have any idea why this lens only couples to the rangefinder of certain FSU cameras?

I was able to buy a nice looking lens from a dealer in Austria. (Just before I saw the ad in the classifieds)
Hopefully it will be here next weekend.

I've found its fine at F6.3, or stopped down a couple times.

Mine does have flare, substantially, if you're not careful. I was just playing with it on a digital X-E1, and can see it would need a long tube sunshade to be more reliable. Any bright light, even from a window, can cause some flare. Experiment with a hood and you'll find it's a great lens.

Maybe your version of the Elmar was not in the best shape?

I just checked my uncoated pre war 90mm f/4.0 Elmar and its resolution wide open is as good as my pre war 50mm f/3.5 Elmar and much better than my 50mm f/2.0 Summar or my two Super Ikonta Tessar lenses (105 mm f/3.8 and 105mm f/4.5) at any aperture.

But I would not mind if the FED 100 f/6.3 would be better than my 90 mm Elmar :-D
