Some very interesting responses, even the metaphysical ones.
Another thought, for those who have moved from Leica to other cameras, did your experience with Leica influence your new camera system?

I was big into Leica's and about 15 years ago I sold it all, which now I regret,
But! I have just purchased a M8 and a minolta 28mm f 2.8 M lens, it's a great
combo and I love being in the Leica fold again. I just missed something just
using the Digital monsters I was using.

Well, I recently purchased a M9 and 35mm and 50mm CV lenses. It's fun at times, but I prefer the Nikon Df and Sony A7 II over it at this point. I guess close focus, AF, and modern CMOS sensors are preferable to me for the photography I like to do.

Hi,
I think the problem is that we go through cycles of being sensible and being emotional; using the words loosely to get the message over. So we are never going to get a once and for all time answer to the question, are we?

I would say no - I have heard from a reliable source at the Vatican that Leica will be opening a Store at the Pearly Gates soon.

Yes, I love the Leica cameras I have owned.
But, the OP's question is somewhat oddly stated. "After" Leica?
How about concurrent with Leica, or other than Leica?
Yes, I have an attachment to the M3 and M6. And the X1. But equally, I have a few others in my life and recently I tried to get down to one camera but failed miserably because of my attachment to these cameras.
IMO, all that is important is to use the camera(s) you love. Simplicity in itself!

There is no life after Leica. Leica is it. I cannot find any other camera/lens that gives me better results. I always keep my first lover: Pentax with very old lenses. Went through all the Canons and found to big for my handling. Never tried Nikon. I did not want to waste my time and money.

For me yes, if we are talking the digital ones..though I was sorely tempted by the mm. Digital Leicas are just not in my budget, though used ones are becoming available w/in budget, but we are talking m8 and m9 cameras which are showing issues as they age.
During my time in film, all my Leica stuff was bought used at reasonable prices.. While I still shoot film, it is mainly medium format these days.
For me, Leicas whether film or digital have always been about simplicity, ease of use and the small package.

M8.2 has no issues, mine has several years and is still going fine. M9 had sensor replaced by Leica after four years, and they will change it again if needed. Other than that , it is a wonderful camera.
