I came across a Konica Hexar RF kit today, it is new in the box, includes 50/2 lens, body and flash in a beautiful display case. They are asking 1200, this camera has not seen a single roll of film.

Worth it? Even close?

I have it on hold as on right now but must decide in the next 48 hours.

Thoughts?

I will say I have lusted after one of these for a while, but wasn't really in the market at this moment, I just happened upon this deal so I'm not sure of current pricing.

Thanks in advance.

Thats about EUR 830. A bit steep, but not too much. Get them to sell at USD 1100 and you would be fine! If you were to buy lens and body separate the price would be right, even a bit low.

Somehow the prices on kits have gone down, people either want a lens or a body, rarely both.
I broke up a Hexar Limited kit I was selling on commission, since the kit as a whole wouldn't sell, even while being the least expensive kit on the net.

Above is your answer😀 It is capatalism, they have for sale, you want, if you have "lusted after it" are you happy to let it pass for the sake of 100 bucks?

Personally i think USD$1200 is a giveaway price for an unused RF, lens and i assume flash and strap, as that was how they came.
When newly released they sold for around that price about 20 years ago. There are lots of sites where you can see unused RF's for sale, at a lot more that that.
Given it's performance, and its rating as an automated M7 and stunning lens quality, you should snap it up and be thankful. I own several and they are an outstanding camera.

If you do buy it, before you load the first roll of film, unscrew the eyepiece and put a dab of loctite or something similar to keep it in place.
I lost the eyepiece to mine, and they are impossible to find replacements for. The VF is useless without it.

Good luck with the decision!
