---Selling Leica M6 #172xxxx black chrome with Summicron 2/50 mm lens with hood and black everyday case
condition: near mint- with original packing plastic still on camera base/black tape protected the camera as long as I`ve owned it, it has had an honest 35 rolls of film through it since I bought it in Germany

Price is $1,500 firm--

found this on another forum I frequent (model mayhem) and it sounds good, but I have not had much experience with Leicas except to have constant gas for one

Thanks..

Thanks..

Thanks guys, I though it seemed like a fair price.. of course I find this only a couple weeks after buying a zeiss 50/2 planar. :bang:

Photogdave : I did get the rd-1 from Japan and I am in love.. So much so that I have started selling off all my dlsr gear... my long term plan was to have an rd-1 and an m6.. looks like that might be short term now.

FWIW an M6 in that serial # is from the late 80s (almost 20 yrs old) has the original version meter (lights go out if the lens cap is on vs blinking) unless it has been replaced (my older M6 is a 168--serial# and had the meter replaced). That old with that little use (35 rolls in 18 yrs) could be headed for an overhaul due to gummy grease.

Also be certain of the version of Summicron. The 69-79 version tends to go for less than the 79-93 and 94-present.

Plus when the seller says
black tape protected the camera as long as I`ve owned it, it has had an honest 35 rolls of film through it since I bought it in Germany
it doesn't say he's the original owner or how long he's owned it. It could've had 5000 rolls before he bought it. And unless you like black tape be prepared to have a mess getting it off. I think $1500 is an ok price, but not outstandingly good if you read between the lines and consider everything.

Good points Ben Z, I'm awaiting pictures of the kit and I'll ask about last cla etc as well as if he already removed tape and the date/serial of the lens.
