Leica I (s/n 37906) on auction at shopgoodwill.com today: http://www.shopgoodwill.com/auctions/Vintage-Leica-Ernst-Leitz-Wetzlar-Camera-19636838.html. Just posting for Barnack lovers who may have the money to take the chance. I like the "Country of Manufacture: Not marked. Believed to be Germany."

Real, but in a very bad condition. Serial 37906 = 1930.

I'm always surprised by the prices that these sorts of things end up selling for on shopgoodwill. The bigger name stuff tends to always get top dollar, for items in unknown states of disrepair. I'm always looking at Leica, Zeiss and Rollei stuff on here, but rarely see anything go for a price that I'd expect for a camera that will likely need servicing as soon as you get it.

How 'bout that? It stayed at $457.78 all day and sold at that bid. I had expected the last-minute bidders and snipers to run up the sale price at the end. That often happens for the big-name cameras on shopgoodwill.
