I should stress again that the photo they got there was the mockup by someone of the e-p2.. They're just using that photo to build the story bigger i guess...
Anyway i did revise the thread title in my first post to avoid any misconceptions.. They talk about the so-called e-p3 in the interview...

Possibly, but the G1's finder is pretty poor. It would be interesting to see how far the next generation of these cameras improves on it.
I don't find the G1's viewfinder to be poor at all. For me, the camera is a tool that produces the imagery I want to capture. The G1 is aces in this respect.

Just get an e-420: faster focussing and a real viewfinder, with a pancake 25mm. (I did). No video and no (expensive) lens adapters, but that's okay.

not actually
No M lenses either!

I'm not going to lie, besides that samsung competitor, the G1 is one of the ugliest camera's I've ever seen - a far cry from the L1 which was really pretty.
I thought the G1/GH1 is not that bad looking, but it certainly pales in comparison to the elegant lines of E-P1/2 or even GF-1.
But that new Samsung NX is ... just plain ... ugly.

I concur. Also, in dim light you can focus on things fairly close up including with Leica lenses. I didn't like the alternative the E-P1 presented me with.

I've used my G1 for almost a year. In all kinds of light and situations. I find it essentially obsoletes all my other cameras. The EVF is tops, in my opinion. The camera is good enough such that if a person can't come away from a shooting session with good images, you don't have the camera to blame.

same for me. g1 is a great camera with powerful lenses.
and i love that NO ONE gives me a second look when i shoot with it.

I don't know, the G1 focus is pretty darn fast, and the viewfinder is lots bigger than the tiny 420.

why not, the e-p1 has a 3 inch viewfinder.. lol
but i guess seriously, functionality aside, the e-p1 is almost a non-mention.. Maybe with a CV viewfinder...
