Hi,

I got an M6TTL last year and ran several films through it. But I failed to notice for sometime until today when I loaded film, if the rewind knob should turn counter clockwise (when I deliberately turn the rewind knob).

I've checked - the film is loaded correctly - when I advance the lever, the rewind knob rotates as expected (which again confirms film is loaded correctly). I've never had problems loading film.

Should the rewind knob be taut when film is loaded? Should the rewind knob be able to turn counter clockwise (ie LHS) when film is loaded?

Did I unintentially break anything?

You have to give several turns to the rewind knob (crank) on any camera to get the film taut. It is loose in the cassette when you load it. Some are more loose than others. I do not think you broke anything. I had an M2 with busted gears. It did not turn with the film at all. Bought "as-is" on Ebay, Essex repaired it.

You can always rewind the film into the camera, noting the number of exposed frames, then reload it. That way you'll convince yourself nothing is wrong. I've done that before.
