I have gotten the Wein Cell version, and it worked okay (in other cameras). You have to take the protector slip off and then wait 30 minutes before installing. However, it will constantly drain, so if you don't use the camera often, you'll be wasting a battery.

Since, I've just used the 1.5 kV alkeline batteries and I haven't seen any negative results from metering. (in a Yaschica electro)
