Is this that famous "Leica Glow" ?

?? Haven't seen this effect before (the purplish cast), self-portrait was taken by my son experimenting with backlighting and EV comp. with a Canon P&S.

It looks like purple haze to me.

any 100 watt plexis in that room?
 
I'll bet Hendrix would have used a super-multicoated Filter on his lens. Looks like flare.
 
Last time I saw that I called the Ghostbusters 😀

Looks like flare. Leica glow is the same plus films with old-style anti halation layer.

The illiterati confuse "glare" and "flare" with "glow".

This is one (ok, two) example(s) of "glow" (with the Summilux pre-asph):






Of course, it's not an exclusive "Leica" "department". This one is with the 35mm f/2 Biogon ZM:



So... don't mistake a bug zapper with a flash diffuser. Happens all the time.
 
The second photo is nice, but that has nothing to do with the glow 😀
