Is this where we discuss Nikon P&S cameras?

I bought my wife a Nikon Coolpix 885 in 2001-2002. She uses it very sparingly. Every time I pick it up to use, like once every year or two, it goes into a spasm and displays "SYSTEM ERROR" and I take it to my Nikon Repair Gnome in Houston. Last night it did it again.
So, I would like a Nikon Digital P&S of my own. With a feature set just like the 885. Or at least close. Things I want are:
1. Tripod socket & viewfinder.
2. Auto Iso. 5 step exposure bracketing & white balance bracketing. Fully useable ISO 400. More is good.
3. Manual operation and focus point movement.
4. Close focus.
5. 2.8 max. aperture, 3x optical zoom, sharp enough to make my eyes bleed lens.
6. CF card. Made in Japan. I know. I'm dreaming on these two.
7. Will entertain non-Nikon if the feature set in another brand knocks my socks off.

Is it possible? Does anyone have a Mint+ Coolpix 885 they will part with for a few dollars?
Thanks for your help.

That does look very interesting. The irony of technology: The Coolpix 885 with 3 Mp was about the same price as the Ricoh. However, for that much money today, I would treat the Canon 1D to 35/2.0 and 100/2.0 lenses. That would make a nice P&S combination.
I may give up on the idea of a 3 Mp Holgaish project camera.
