I have an interest in Japanese culture: cinema, art, photography, food, etc., but this is the first time I have encountered Miyako. In this interview she comes across as a fascinating, yet modest woman, and most importantly as an excellent photographer. Well worth watching.

I watched twice both the inteviews, interesting and inspiring.
A few points I noticed which in my view are important:
She never studied photography but met and spent time with important experienced photographers, as Tomatsu, Araki, Moriyama and Fukase. It's important to meet and discuss things with other people who have a vision.
She used a good camera in a simple way but paying extreme attentoin to the light. And to the shadow (lasy part of the NHK video).
And not less important is her involvement in what she was doing " a photograph is not a documentation, is a creation" .
A great photographer I didn't know thanks for the link.
Now I want, I need a book of her
