I got very excited when I saw the headline in the PDN newsletter I got this morning. Below is an excerpt. But when I followed the link, it showed the GF670. :bang:

It was only a prototype at Photokina 2008. Now it's an announced real product. I guess that's the difference.
(Was black at Photokina though, looks nicer).

By the way, what are the facts on the lens? Same manufacture as Voigtlander version just rebranded? Probably Cosina?

It was released last year as the Voigtlander Bessa III, I believe.

According to the thread, it appears that Fuji may be starting to market it outside of Japan. Previously, Fuji only sold this in the Japanese domestic market, while its partner Cosina marketted the same camera outside of Japan under the brand Voiglander Bessa III

The 80mm lens is supposed to be exactly the same, bearing different badges. Fuji EBC on the Fuji versus Heliar on the Bessa

I was hoping that Fuji/Cosina was announcing a new camera with the same folder construction, but with another, wider lens! No such luck!

I believe GF670 was released in Japan last year. Maybe Fuji is officially launching it for the US market?
