I've been using the R-D1 since last September and as Iive in the northern Europe mostly in winter/fall/spring conditions. The R-D1 ISO had truly amazed me by it's low light IS0 1600 qualities especially by the the extremely low amount of noise.

Some time ago I had the chance to test the R-D1's night shooting capabilities in totally different surroundings were the night temperatures were about 24-26 degrees and the air relatively humid.

Are these connected or what is wrong with my censor? Does any one have any explanaitions or similar experiences`?

I am not sure I understand your point. What happened in the humid conditions with you sensor ?

but there is a relationship between temperature and CCD noise and performance. Some photographers keep their digital cameras in cooler bags, especially when they know they will be shooting at high ISOs in high ambient temperatures.

Not sure about humidity effects on CCD sensors, with regards to sensor noise.

I live in Monterrey Mexico with extreme hot weather (100f now in spring-mostly dry) iso 1600 rocks! maybe I am wrong but I think weather can affect battery life or the operation of the camera, I never heard a relationship with iso noise...

cmos sensors have a tendency to be affected by heat, but CCDs much less so as I understand it. My CANON 1D was OK with heat, but my 1Ds sometimes gets some corner shading when the battery I insert is hot from charging; that effect is gone within a few minutes though.
The RD1 whould not have issues with the sensor in hotter climates.
