I have been using a new RD-1 for a short while and the ISO dial has stop working. Effectively leaving me stuck in ISO 200. Anybody else have this kind of trouble? Any workarounds?

I haven't heard that one before. Does the dial lift up?

Sounds like it may need to go back to Epson. Sorry to hear it. Was it, by chance, out in cold weather recently?

I'm curious, why do you specifically mention cold weather? I've taken my R-D1 out in Boston & surroundings a bunch over the last year without running into any problems. I always gradually warm it up to reduce condensation from forming. Other then that, I've had no cold related problems. Although, while taking pictures of my wife sledding today, I ran into the shutter glitch. Not sure if it is cold related though, the last time it happened, it was spring.

I mention it because I ran into a problem with my previous body this past fall. In cool fall weather the shutter dial lock button froze and would not allow the dial to turn (it was in "A" at the time). The problem mysteriously fixed itself later on (when the camera had been stored in the warm indoors for several days).

It was not very cold. Maybe low 50's. Shortly after I had the first problem with ISO dial the shutter button fell off and left me in the middle of the street with a number of small part floating around on top of the camera. I have put it all back together in what seems like the only way possible yet the dial still does not work.

Your camera is about to take a trip to Epson, alas.

Cheers,

Sean
