I shot two rolls at my neice's birthday party yesterday. With a dozen 5 and 6 year olds running around I am bound to have gotten a couple keepers. I found it very pleasent when after taking some shots of two little girls playing with hula hoops they stopped, came up next to and behind me and asked to see the pictures (obviously thinking my camera was a digital). Well, before I could say anything my son came over and said, "You can't see the pictures like that on my dad's camera, we have to go home and develop the film first." He is growing up right. 😀

well done. i'd sure like to know how to instill that ability to savor gratification. you can be a proud father, no doubt.

My children will also know this. I'll make sure of it. Always. I plan to let them grow up with a camera in hand. It's the way things should be.

Good job. 🙂

I was taking my just acquired Kiev 4AM (yesterday) on its maiden voyage today in tourist choked Bisbee, Arizona. A kid, maybe twelve, eyed the Kiev suspiciously, then turned to his parents. "Dad, look at that. That ain't no digital camera, is it?" "No, son," said Dad. "It uses film. You have to take the film to Walmart to get it developed." "What's with that?" said the kid.

I had no answer, so I tried this one. "It's all about suspense." The kid and his dad walked off.

Gene, B&W. Cut and in pages right now under 50lbs of books. I am going to beat the curl.

Francisco, we went to a horse show yesterday, 3 women my wife work with were riding in it and a few coworkers went to support them. Sammy only made it threw a couple hours, it was a cool rainy (tail end of a system just ending up) morning, but my M6 was there. As I was organizing myself to leave my wife asked if I had a camera that she knew how to use with me, she was staying behind to see her friends ride. No I said. I am not ready to let my little girl out of my control just yet.

Nice story, rover.

I had my camera on my desk the other day. My 5 year old, Mikey (whom you've met) says he wants to be a photographer when he grows up, "just like you, Daddy."

I teased him, "But you don't even have a camera. What are you going to use?"

"Oh, I'll get your (Leica) when you die, Daddy."

I looked at him... "So now you want me to die?"

He shakes his head, "Noooo... you have to teach me how to use it first!"

Ray, you have to tell me which indoor amusement place is in the photographs you recently posted. Sammy wants to go to one again, he has asked twice now. The next time he will start asking why I haven't taken him yet, and then I start feeling guilty...

That's Club Kids on Washington Ave, in North Haven (Exit 11 off 91). It's a LOT roomier and less congested than Chucky Cheese.

I stop at the Stop & Shop there each morning to make a salad for lunch. I noticed it this morning and thought it was a consignment shop.

I will have to put that on my list.
