I've been pretty good at controlling GAS the second half of this year, but you know you are being tested when you drive down a local street, and the 10 ft digital sign outside the local pawn shop reads "CONTAX G System"
Yikes... what was that movie where a traffic control sign talks to Steve Martin? "LA Story"?
Anyway... long story short: a G2 chrome body, 45, 90, TLA200 flash, in a Contax Kit brown bag. Too expensive for my blood, but what was disconcerting was the fact that there was a roll of film still in the camera, and a couple more in the bag. Screamed stolen merchandise to me, but wasn't going to get into it with the store owner.
Bottom line -- if you live in central Massachusetts or New England, and you recently lost your G2, ping me and I'll get you the pawn shop location, and maybe even go back and get you the serial number so you can check it.

Sure seems a bit weird leaving your film in the camera when selling it

It does seem strange. But, it could be the owner died and a survivor is selling the kit off, not knowing (or caring, more likely) about the film.

I thought of that as well, but wanted to make sure.

I doubt it is stolen since pawn shops are required to turn over copies of all pawn tickets to the police.
I have bought a number of cameras with film still with it. Many times these outfits have sat in a closet for years and are sold later at yard sales, flea markets, etc and may still have several rolls of film with them.
