Now I'm feeling guilty. The basement needs some clean-up and some laundry put through before I do any more film. But I do have a roll of Tri-X shot a la merciful in a tank, then there's a bunch of APX100 and Tri-X (at "normal" rating) and Pan F and HP5 waiting. Tomorrow night will be the night to start. The super-pushed Tri-X will take well over an hour to process, so that will probably be all I can do in one evening. Then Wednesday I'll start tackling the rest of the backlog.
Who knew joe would be my motivation? No freakin' way I want to be slower than joe!!!

9 are sleeved and 3 more are hanging to dry.
that's a bit less than half of what i have on hand to process so i'm feeling good. the rest will maybe get done this week.
frank, every christmas i think that some prints might make good gifts for people but i never seem to get organized in time.
maybe next year...

I was stuck for a gift for my wife who is impossible to buy anything for. Pictures of the children is the perfect gift. Today I was home alone all day so I got to it.

TRIUS, thirty years ago and before for 10-15 years, I did my own development. I didn't have RFF so the negatives are not what I would expect or accept now. But when 'I started to get back into photography' I went to labs, all kinds of them. Now I do all my own RF and slr (small letters) B&W developing. And I can afford any lab to do my stuff (at any price), BUT I didn't get as ASH says 'find joy'. NOW, I have my own ISOs (ASAs for the older contributers) for each film and I have my own development times and developer for each film. As Macaber (Dickens)said, "Bliss".

Nice.
If the store I'm going into tomorrow morning has a changing bag, tank, and developer/fixer, I'll be doing my first roll of B&W tomorrow

Ive only got 2 off 5x tanks and several 3x tanks, Several of the bigger ones would be better, after a holiday or wedding. I have reams of film, when I'm on form.

Hi
I am just in the process of beginning to develop my own. Beginning with an ID-11 and HP5 combination on 35mm, which I am told is quite forgiving. Anybody have any other recommendation on good combinations. Also I see a lot of instructions on how to roll the 35mm film onto the reels, but does anyone have instructiosn for 120?

Stephen, 120 is the same as 135, just wider. Practise 10x with a sacrificed roll in the light, then 10x in the light with your eyes closed, then 10x with the dummie roll in the dark, before trying the real thing.
