Hi All,

I have now joined the ranks of the 7 gajillion other cyber-nauts out there.

Yup, I am a blogger.

In fact I have two blogs, both with lots of rangefinder content.

The first is Chiendogblog and features random and disconnected thoughts mainly regarding dogs and photography.

The second is Prairiedogblog . It is the blog of my photography school and features lots of rangefinder stuff included a mini rant posted yesterday on the virtues of the Yashica Lynx.

If you have a minute or two to kill, have a look.

Cheers!

CK

Doesn't 'chien' mean 'dog'? Dog dog blog? OK, then.

Here's my nasty floor-eating mutts, well one of them anyway:

Nice stuff on both blogs. I'm bookmarking you.
I need to point the camera at my chessie more often. She's such a spaz though that if I even look at her she mugs me (figurin' that she might get taken out to play).

Thanks for the feedback all.

Nice blog Rich. I love tone of your black and whites. May I ask how you are getting it in PS?

The shot of "Felix is Felix" was taken with a point and shoot believe it or not....well not just any point and shoot...a Yashica T4 no less.

Cheers,

CK

Dazed, nice blog with some great photos (I like that they were all in b&w) 🙂
How is the Balda working out for you?

Bill, that is one fine looking dog! Love the eyes, nice shot.

What camera/flim conbo?

Canon T-60 SLR with Canon 55mm F1.2 FL. Shot f1.2 @ 1/60 on Walgreens Studio 35 200 film (Agfa Vista 200).

Here's the other pair of the deadly duo - Milo, taken with same setup, only Tri-X rated at EI 1600, f2.0, 1/125, processed in Diafine. Frankly, I am not sure Tri-X is a 1600 ISO film in Diafine after having experimented some with it. 1000, maybe. But others got much thicker negs than I did shooting at 1600, so maybe I'm doing something wrong. Anyway, here's the photo:

Thanks,
A month or so ago, I made a commitment to go all black and white. I'm sure I'll do color now and again, but black and white is where my heart is and I want to improve along those lines.
I've only gotten one roll back from the balda and I didn't have a single usable frame. At this point I don't know if the lens is very poor or if I just haven't figured out how to hold a folding camera. I'm leaning toward the second explaination.
I shot 4 more rolls through it (before I got the first one back) so I should know more soon about its actual abilities.
It looks and handles well though....

Are you souping your own B&W? If not, you might want to consider it - a worthwhile investment.

I REALLY want to...but, my time is already so limited. For now, the chromogenic b&w films will have to do. Plus, I shoot lots of digital.
