Hi Joe,
New guy here. I know where you are coming from. I have been shooting for a while now- manual SLRs to auto-this-and-that SLRs to a digital SLR. Recently I sold My EOS 3 and bought a Bessa R and Industar 61l/D. Now I make a conscious decision to shoot color/digital or B+W before I leave the house. 95% of the time I go out with the Bessa (I have never shot color with it yet). I'm enjoying only having the one lens - it really makes me think about framing and considering new possibilities within the 50mm view. I feel like my prints are getting better, or at least more interesting. Getting back to a fully manual camera and developing/printing my own work is reminding me of the sheer fun in photography I was missing. I would like to post some pics although I have never been able to get into the gallery!
I'm loving this forum, keep up the good work guys!
Cheers,
Nick

Just when I think Gman & I are done acquiring, I find another to want! GAS does not discriminate!
I really like the look & feel of the Fed, Zorki & Kiev that Dave got & am anxious to try them, too. Plus the QL17 feels pretty good. Though I am still most comfortable with my Oly 35RC I am getting to like the feel of the heftier cameras.

Why, thank you, Joe! I've missed getting into the Forum - but it is tax season. Thank goodness April 15 isn't far away!
Now I KNOW I'll try that Kiev out for sure! Maybe Gman & I can work something out - if you know what I mean.

Now, Joe, I meant that as a perfectfully innocent suggestion.
(But have you got any ideas for me?)

Pherdinand said:New and exciting? Found a 10-15 y old roll of BW neg, never enlarged but developed, at my parents' place. Waiting right now for the lab for some enlargements. Highschool pics, exciting indeed.
I have also found some photos i made while in first grade of highschool; will post here a few. 14 years old pics. First one is myself when I was fifteen-ish, with the bike.
All these taken with an old cheap russian viewfinder (Smena 8M)...no rf, sorry.

I was looking at the b/w pix. Tres cool , what do you remember about your bindings? I'm looking and I can't figure them out. Where were you skiing? I used to do it a lot but after knee surgery 5 yrs back all I do is miss it.

Little new things for me this week - Today in the mail I got a note from Paul Ebel at Lens Services that my Kodak 100mm WF Ektar and Kodak 190mm Ektar are finished with their shutters CLA'd. He also said he would be able to work on my Baby Rollie!! I succumbed to GAS and picked up a Canon F1-N new with a 28mm FD lens at the local camera store for $150 US. I hope I didn't get robbed.
I am still suffering from bright view finder envy, only 9 more days until the camera swap meet. I am hoping i will over come the Leica siren's call.

Little things... A pair of B+W filters arrived today, one yellow-green and one UV, both 46mm to fit the new 45mm Planar for Contax G1. And the Contax metal hood for it too. Small stuff, but came in a huge box filled with those clear plastic airbags.

Jan, actually the second shot shows a friend of mine, skiing. I tried skiing a few times, but did not really get hooked. The pic was taken on the Hargita mountain in the center of Romania ("eastern Carpathes"), approx. 1700 m altitude. We went there several times with our classmates, it was always great fun. Just 30 km from my hometown.
Bindings?what bindings?
Remy - thanks
