As the title says I have a Pentax Spotmatic SPF. I just acquired a Jupiter 9. This is my first non-Takumar lens with this camera, also my first preset lens. Needless to say....I have some learning to do. The preset thing is straightforward so far, but I do have a metering question. I've asked this on a few "more Pentax oriented" boards, but I still am not getting a clear answer.
When metering with this lens I need to use the meter switch since the lens has no protrusion to activate the meter, yes?
When using the switch, do I leave it in the up (on) position to release the shutter? Or do I press the switch up, meter, push switch down, then shoot?
Thanks in advance

Leave in the on position if taking the shot, it will switch itself off after exposure.
If you are just metering the scene, switch off after metering.
If you are just metering the scene, switch off after metering.
