Hi friends from the forum,

I've got this very beautyfull Jupiter 12 for my Kiev 4, with the finder for 35mm and it looks and feels just perfect on that camera.
but it produces an extreme blur towards the corner. I don't think this is normal. Is there anything one can do to rescue this gem?

It's an early 5947xxx lens in silver.

Here is an example pic., dont mind the motive, it was chossen to test the lens and this strange behaviour.

Thanks for any tips,
Michael

I think it was stopped down a bit...
Well, if you say this is normal I'll go out and shoot another roll. Seems like I need to find motives which fit😉

I was reading about collimating FSU lenses, due to lack of quality control back in the days. Could one improve the lens with that? And if: how do you do it??

thanks ondrej,
cheers, Michael

Looking at the photo I had the impression that you were not quite square on to the wall, with the RH side being a little farther away from the camera. Trying a few shots on a tripod would be a good idea to confirm it is the lens.

This was taken with the lens stopped down to apprx. f 5.6, it is a black J12 from about 1975.

No blur, but some degree of vignetting.
