I just received a Jupiter 8 I was going to use in my Fed2, but now that I have a Bessa R was wondering if the Bessa's light meter will work with the J8 attatched. Anyone try this?

The J-8 won't interfere with the Bessa's metering cell. I use an older chrome tabbed J-8 with my Bessa R all the time -- no problems. A few of the pics in my gallery were made with that combo.

It should be fine with the meter, but the focus may be a problem. The J-8 is made to the Contax standard focal length, the Bessa is made to the Leica focal length. Check the focus wide-open before using it for anything important.

I use J-8 with my Bessa R a lot and don't have any problems with this combo. Few of my photos made with J-8 can be found in my RFF gallery.

cheers
