Of the 11 you've posted, the first in post 20 is by far the best IM Humble O. I like the pose. If it was me I'd crop the top edge along the line of the balcony hand rail in the background and the bottom about the same distance below her hands.

Very quick and dirty, but a bit like this...

Sorry?😕 The lamp I mention is a lamp that is between my monitor and the scanner, so a light comes from above and the scanner is not 100% light secure between the cover and the glass.

I use my J8 on a Kiev (Kneb) which I believe is an early 50's camera. I consider the lens quite sharp for the era. By comparison the pictures seem a bit sharper than your J8 examples, but there are so many factors beyond just the lens to consider. AND I am using Kodak (capitalist) film ASA400.

That's alright Comrade, Soviet or other People's film is difficult to find these days, so it is enough that your glorious KNEB is still shooting, even with capitalist ammunition!

One thing I have see, is that the photos that are post here, in the foruns, are always better and sharper than mine. The reason, I alwas think that the photos are taken with the correct camera+lens sets (speed+f/spot). Possibly the own development can also produce better resaults. 😉
O my J8 is knot very soviet on this day, got to have a talk with her...😀

I don't know about others, but I do some minor adjustments in Photoshop before posting. Printing on paper is another thing, but for the web, negative scans need some sharpening. And of course some dust and hair removal (don't know about You guys, but dust and little hair seem to live in my scanner).
I try do do as little as possible, thouhg. Don't want to loose the true look of the film.

I always use PS or Picassa for a minor adjustment. Also, I usually scan my BW with the scanner set on color, then make the adjustments.
